Kendal Town crashed to an emphatic 4-0 home defeat to promotion-chasing Atherton Colleries.

Kendal, who have picked up just one point from the last 12 league games, are now level on points with second from bottom Skelmersdale United.

Kendal were 1-0 down after five minutes when Ben Hardcastle scored before Vinny Bailey's well-taken goal on the stroke of half-time saw the hosts 2-0 down at the break.

Atherton sealed the points with ten minutes to go after Jordan Cover finished from close range, before former Kendal striker Connor Gaul converted a late penalty kick, while Jacob Davies was sent off for giving away the initial spot kick.
