BURSCOUGH 1 KENDAL TOWN 3

Town's latest pre-season game saw a good performance from Lee Ashcroft's men. As the new season draws closer you can see the improvement in the team.

The strikers are looking particularly sharp and Kevin Leadbetter openened the scoring on just 4 minutes when he beat Burscough's attempted offside trap and finished well. Shortly after he struck the post with a drilled shot.

Burscough levelled on 32 minutes with a sublime goal, their forward Niall Cummins chipped Town keeper Josh Welsby from 40 yards.

Town regained the lead on 37 minutes when Alex Taylor turned well and fired home.
Kendal Town bossed the majority of the second half with Leadbetter grabbing his second of the match on 70 minutes. Josh Kenworthy beat a couple of defenders in the area to then cross for Leadbetter to score at the back post.

The last 20 minutes saw several substitutions from Lee Ashcroft and Town should have scored a couple more.

A very encouraging display from Kendal Town with only the visit of Workington Reds to Parkside on Saturday before the league campaign kicks off on August 18th V Stafford Rangers at home.
