Lostock St Gerards 0 Kendal Town 1
Kendal Town eased to victory in a rain-soaked encounter at Lostock Hall near Preston.
The only goal of the game came through Alex Taylor in the 64th minute after a Kevin Leadbetter cross was mis-kicked by Jack Duggan. The ball fell to Taylor in the box and he sidefooted past Lostock shot-stopper Tim Mullock to give Kendal the lead.
The first half was a hugely forgettable affair, the pick of Kendal’s chances coming when two strikers missed a Danny Williams cross form the left.
Josh Kenworthy also had an effort saved by the keeper, who stopped Taylor from close range after a Leadbetter ball in.
Town came out for the second half more fired up and after Kenworthy sorted his feet out with two defenders giving him close attention, he got a shot in which Mullock did well to save.
Leadbetter struck the bar with a thunderous effort in the 55th minute.
With 10 minutes left Lostock started searching for an equaliser in a game Kendal had easily controlled. Mark Mullen curled a lovely left footer but substitute keeper Tom Newton was equal to the task, and Kendal saw out the game to record their second victory in four days.
