Kendal Town defeated Woodley Sports 2-0 in the third round of the Doodson Cup to set up a clash with local rivals Lancaster City in the fourth round.
After a subdued first half the game sprang into life when referee David Midgley awarded the hosts a penalty for a foul on substitute Jack Dorney.
Dorney put his spot kick wide of the goal with keeper Tom Newton untroubled, and it seemed to spur Town into gear.
The deadlock was broken just minutes after Tom Kilifin replaced Mark Jackson in the Town attack, but it was courtesy of strike partner Gary McEvatt.
McEvatt was on hand to head home at the back post when Danny Williams cross was floated beyond the Woodley defence at the second attempt.
Woodley had an immediate chance to respond at the other end when Dorney laid the ball off to Sean Symons, but he spooned his shot high and wide.
And a second goal for Danny Wisdom in as many games sealed Town's passage in the 85th minute.
Defender Adam Mather's throw in was misjudged by a fellow defender and Wisdom stole the ball and poked under the hapless Max Johnson to secure the win.
